There is a safe and complimentary therapy to western medicine, Chinese medicine, herbal medicine, homeopathy, etc. called Reiki.  The name Reiki is pronounced “Ray-key”.  It comes from the Japanese words “rei” meaning spirit and “ki” meaning energy.  In other words, it is the universal life force energy that flows through and gives life to all living things.  Reiki is used to restore, replenish and maintain the natural harmony and balance needed to create optimal health.  Reiki assists healing on all levels of an animal’s being:  physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. 

The practitioner is a conduit for the healing energy through her hands to the animal via light touch on the body or from a distance.  The practitioner sets an intention to be open to facilitating the healing process for as much energy as the canine would like to receive.

What Reiki Can Do for Your Canine

• Enhance overall well-being
• Accelerate healing after surgery or illness
  • Provide relaxation to facilitate and enhance the body’s natural healing response thereby alleviating and preventing side effects of pain-killers and antibiotics
  • Reduce pain and swelling
• Improve sleep patterns
• Help behavior issues by reducing anxiety and stress thereby allowing your canine to be more receptive to training and behavior modification
• Facilitate transition for the terminally-ill or aged animal
• Help canine release effects of emotional and physical trauma from abuse and neglect
• Help process emotions associated with grief or loss of owner or buddy animal

Signs of acceptance from the canine include relaxation and appreciative movements like licking hands or accepting petting.  There is no set timetable for results.  Canines, like people, don’t get their health problems in one day.  A healing change is usually noticeable after 4 – 5 sessions.

Mission

My mission is to provide our canines with love, healing care and a safe home away from home in an effort to repay them for sticking by our sides through thick and thin.  Canines are amazing creatures of Earth.  Their never-ending compassion is truly remarkable.  I am honored to work with you and your canine family member and to provide Reiki treatments to our beloved companions.
